1999 996 Convertible Dilemma
Discussion
Hello all,
I have a pristine 3.4 version, 72k on the clock which I should sell (but have had it for 13 yrs so will be a reluctant decision). Am looking for advice please.
Will I be stupid to try and sell in the winter when a convertible is less desirable but availability is fewer, or wait until spring time when the demand will increase?
Am will to use PH selling section on here but don't want to use private adverts that might entice tyre kickers with no buying intentions. I live in West Sussex, is anyone aware of an Indie that is reasonably local that might be prepared to buy from me?
Thank you all in advance.

996 Cabs will inevitably be difficult to sell at this time of year. If you can get a specialist to make an offer, it is likely to be on the basis they’re expecting to buy it & hold it until the spring unless it’s extremely cheap & hence be prepared for a low ball offer.
Specialists in the wider area include the likes of Cridfords, 911 Virgin & Ashgood though you should be prepared to travel if you’re trying to sell at this time of year. I’ve previously sold to 911Virgin & they were simple to deal with.
Be prepared to have whoever you’re asking to buy your car ask to inspect it in a workshop given the age of the car - they’ll be looking for possible expenditure items they make have to cover before selling it on. In your situation & with the current quiet market for used 911s & sports cars generally, I’d be holding on to it until the Spring.
