my knobs fallen off

has anyone heard of this before. driving through town yesterday, gearbox started feeling a bit loose going into 1st 3rd and 5th, the further i drove the worse it got. made it home and me an a freind took the tunnel cover to bits to find one of the 2 bolts holding the gear lever to the actual mechanism coming out of the box had snapped making the lever wobble. treid to tighten the other bolt that snapped too. the threads are left in sat below the tunnel stuck in with threadlock and my gearlever is on the floor. help

Take it back to the dealer, they should fix it under warranty. If not then get it deivered to the specialist by a breakdown firm. Threadlock on the gearknob is not something that I would try myself. You could try searching the forums. Not sure if anyone else here may be able to help. Sorry fella..

its off up to factory for a thousand mile service after rebuild on tuesday. so ill let them sort it. dont know what they will think of my short term cure though. cut up a stainless towel rail with a grinder and slotted it onto the stubb coming out of the gearbox with the help of some insulation tape . looks hysterical.
