Just ordered an ACT induction kit for my Cerbie

Anyone know what the cost difference between a replacement set of silicon (i.e. Factory ones) trumpets and the new ACT kit is ?

no need to go for anything like the factory replacements when carbon al does beautiful carbon fibre replacements, they really are the best quality carbon i've seen ..

Joolz....would my car, (emerald ECU), have to be remapped after fitting the ACT induction kit?

...and would a 'standard' Cerbie benefit and need remapping also?

For advice on whether it will need remapping you will have to speak to ACT, all i can tell you is that when i did the kit on Cliff's car it did need to be remapped to take advantage of the slightly increased airflow.

For factory standard trumpets (for the purists), the damage is 436 pounds inc VAT and clips (bonus) !!!

ACT version 650 with VAT=763.75

Carbon Al (4.5) 350*2 with VAT=822.50 extra DEL

The prices of the max power versions don't look so bad now.

Hi the prices quoted for my carbon trumpets are incorrect they are £75.00 + vat each as to the connecting hose drop Craig a email i am sure he will be able to help

Andy, if you change the induction length then you really should have the car re-mapped at the same time. You also need to factor in the 2 hours fitting for the kit as I believe the kit is supplied fitted only.

To be fair, your website does list them as £295+VAT each (presuming they are "Manifold airboxes".

Thanks, I quickly went through the site, couldn't find any specific trumpet items so thought they came with the airboxes. Not so, as you say.

Slight delay in updating this thread, I won't go into detail..........but the good news is my car is now booked to have the kit fitted at Austec on 30th June. Hoorah just after LM, can't wait for all of that extra power.

Will be interesting what gains your particular car gets.
Could you not try the 'SXS' guys as well? They promise 150 bhp gain albeit I am not sure if anyone has had a rebuild done by them or if the 150bhp is yet proven.

Yup, agree, interesting it will be.

Don't know Ash very well, met him once at the Surrey Cerb RR day, seemed like a really nice chap and above all a Cerb nut. I'm really into tuning what I have on a cost basis, if the motor ever needs a rebuild then it makes a lot of sense to explore all avenues.

Chaps, quite simply there is a big disconnect going on here. For a while it did look like people were going to rise above it and get on with focusing on technical matters alone but the bridge building process has hit the buffers to mix my metaphors.

We are therefore in the same situation as we were a couple of weeks back.

For that reason (and for my sanity) I'm not prepared to let this latest installment in the saga reignite the debate.

Where there might have been something new to add to the discussion there no longer is.
