Repair slit in rubber seal

Just put a slit in the rubber weather seal of my boot. Only had the car a week :-(

Can I glue the slit back together? Suggestions on rubber glue which wont leave a mess and hopefully will be invisible?

Can be good to bond a smaller rubber tube inside before gluing

Thought super-glue was ok for this job

Superglue isn't ideal as it's not flexible. Shoe glue would be better

Wouldn't a bicycle puncture repair kit be best for this?

The slit is only about 2 cm. I'd rather leave it than use the suggested inner tube fix.

I've bought some Gorilla contact glue which is advertised as flexible and crystal clear. Hopefully that will do the job.

I used insulation tape for a temporary fix. It's still there a year later.

I am assuming the seal is black ?

we use black glue for jobs likes this, from a company called Kent, i dont think they sell to the general public though

Looks like wurth do one as well, it doesnt say black, but looking at the images it certainly looks black
