Giveaway/Competition questions
Discussion
So I know these are very popular at the moment and to be honest getting quite tedious in most sectors (cars, holidays for example) but we are looking at adding a section to our site and doing this on some smaller products (values will be £300 - £1500ish) with low odds, probably 100-200 tickets and it will be within the sports sector.
Its not going to be our main focus or new business but we think its a good way to increase revenue and most importantly to us get more traffic on our site and social media pages.
Having looked online I can see you dont need a gambling license if its a game of skill so we will put a relatively simple question on the products before people can buy an entry but what else is needed? Do the T&C's need doing professionally or can we use a generic one and input our details? Is there a maximum number of tickets people can buy etc etc?
If anyone does this or has some tips I would appreciate it, just trying to get my head around it at the moment and then look at what programs are available for entrants and list formations when the tickets are sold out.
Thanks!

As you've spotted, the competition cannot be a lottery. The entrant must demonstrate a level of 'skill'.
You also have to demonstrate that any draw was done fairly and randomly and prizes not going to your mates.
I believe a recent ruling has been introduced that requires you to own the prizes or the right to provide the prizes before the completion goes live. On other words, the availability of the prize cannot be dependent upon sufficient entries being made to cover their costs. I'm not 100% certain on this so worth checking.
Watch GDPR - only use a winner's name in publicity if your've asked them and they've said yes.
