Electric shaver recommendation

There are any number of electric shavers for sale, although the market seems to be dominated by Braun and Philips
The Braun Series 3 seems to be about £30
The Philips S9000 series is about £360
As you can't try before you buy, how do you choose?
You try the base model and try to guess how much better the flashy, expensive version could possibly be for all that extra cash. Or you buy it and find out.The Braun Series 3 seems to be about £30

In my experience, not much.
I'm on my second Series 3. They last about a decade.
I recommend the base Oral-B 2xAA electric toothbrush too.
Bought a Braun a couple of years ago, it's not as good as the 25 year old Remmington it replaced. Doesn't shave as close, misses bits the Remmington got, doesn't shave if you've left the beard to grow for a couple of days, and won't shave if it's connected to the charger cable. The Remmington did all of these things.
I have been using Philips for years, so I may be biased.
Purchased a 9000 series on Black Friday last year and I am super impressed with it. Smooth shave with no irritation, battery lasts ages.
I think I paid £179. so it should go down again at the end of the month when Black Friday rolls around.

I've just switched from a Braun series 3 to a Philips series 5000. I've used a Philips prior to the Braun.
With the Brauns I found I really had to shave every day, as it struggled with longer hair. It also missed bits slightly if they were hairs that pointed in weird directions.
The Philips is better if I've not shave for a day or two and better at weird direction hair. It is not as close a shave though certainly.
I believe the brauns are meant to be more sensitive, but never had an issue with either.

As above, Philips last for many years
One problem with the two Philips shavers I have used is that they are mains powered and the power lead often pulls out of the shaver
There is nothing worse than a Philips shaver pulling hairs out of ones face due to loss of power
Agree on everything here. I've even considered super gluing the lead into the base of the shaver! One problem with the two Philips shavers I have used is that they are mains powered and the power lead often pulls out of the shaver

I use about the cheapest mains one that Philips sell. I could never see the point of paying out more.
I’ve had a couple of Braun’s (series 3 and 7 I think) but didn’t really get on with them. They are poor on longer, and particularly courser growth. This seems to be due to the shape of the trimmer guides which seem to grip the hair and yank it out.
Phillips style I did not like at all, not a close shave IMO.
I am on Panasonic now and like them much better than either of the above. When the foil or cutter wear out I tend to swap the whole shaver. I buy a cheaper model (circa £40-50). They tend to last me about 3 years (daily use) at which point the foil might fail and the replacement cost means is not really worth changing as usually the battery is fading by this point.

Any recommendations for a sensitive electric shaver?
Tried the Philips mentioned earlier in the thread, previously had a Braun series 3 but both leave me bright red, with some spots a few days later.
Tried loads of sensitive foams which help a little but don't eliminate the problem.

Can't say I can recommend electric shaving at all, I had a braun series 3 and it was awful.
I found it took me far longer, to get a worse shave and was less conformable than using even a cheap razor. It might be that I have really coarse hair compared to most people and they just do not work well on me, because otherwise I cannot understand why these things exist at all.
