Ginger Nuts?

I have just returned from Belize(business trip). While there, I had some british-made cookies called "Ginger nuts". I enjoy ginger snaps here at home, but these, while similar, seemed a bit better. Are these a popular confection on your side of the pond? P.S. It was a Monday and the Queen's birthday, so celebrations brought out these treats.

How is Belize related to the UK that they celebrate the Queen's birthday? Former colony or something? I had no idea. Interesting.

In answer to your question, oh yes, we do like them quite a lot over here.
Best sampled with an oversize mug of workmans tea (coffee colour, three spoons of sugar), then dip and munch to your hearts content.

Delightful.
Am fairly certain you can get them in the States, as I bought some for the sister in law last time I was in New York.

I didn't even know it was her birthday!

and yes ginger nut bicuits/cookies/sweetmeats/whatever are farking gorgeous and even better with a mug of tea (just to reinforce the stereotype even more)
