Filming Permit - get out of jail card

When an actor is being filmed on the street and says something racist / swearing can they get into trouble?
If a member of the public is watching the fimling and makes a complaint to the police what will happen.

If nothing can anyone just walk round the streets with a camera phone and say loads of racist stuff into it and its ok because they are acting they may have a script and youtube channel to back it up.

Would have thought the two situations you're describing would have different outcomes, simply because of the context. On the one hand, a film or TV show will likely have multiple cameras, lighting, sound, etc. and it'll be pretty obvious to anyone observing that it's a performance.

Someone with a camera phone - not so much.

They'll both be held to the same standards as far as I'm aware, but someone watching actors clearly acting (action, cut, etc.) is far less likely to complain about what's being said than a random shouting abuse on a camera phone...

Interesting one. I suspect that if the script calls for it you may have a reason. That would not necessarily mean it would be classed as an offence though. After all if I find something offensive on a film. I can still complain.

How far you would get regarding "you tube' alleged filming I don't know

The few times I've been in London when there filming they've shut off both ends of the street so the public wouldn't be there .

Anyone with a little more knowledge please feel free to correct me, it's been a few years.

I believe the offence needs a person to 'likely be caused harassment, alarm or distress'.

So would it be reasonable to be harassed, alarmed or distressed watching a TV/Film being made? I'd say no.

Some random person walking down the road with his phone in his/her hand? I'd say that's alot more reasonable to hit any of the 3.

As I said, it's been a few years so appreciate any corrections.

Only so their not in the shot or for safety if filming a stunt, you could however be within earshot.

We were in London when they we're filming the brad pitt film allied in madia vale .

They'd closed off a whole street both ends there's no way you'd get even within ear shot unless they screamed something .

It's always amusing playing the security off against each other , 1st few said there was no access because of filming but they didn't know what was being filmed or who the actors we're , 30 seconds on twitter and it was pretty clear what was going on so wander around the other side and another security guard and same story until we said the name of the film and who was filming and he freaked out .

Surely they must see what's on twitter so knows when the cats out the bag ?
