Is the BMW x1 Msport a good car?

I am thinking about my next car, some thoughts so far are VW Golf R, BMW x1 M Sport, or the WRX Subaru.

Isn't the M-Sport a trim level rather than a full blooded "M" car? Usually rock hard suspension and a smattering of carbon tat.

As above the X1 is a trim level the other two are performance cars.
