Good afternoon everyone,

Just found a small oil leak on the oil radiator cooling pipe for the Transaxle, probably from recent clutch change, not tightened
up.

Having looked up in the owners manual it suggests using Shell Transaxle 75W/90, it also says not to use Shell Spirax 75W/90.
I can not find anyone who can supply Shell Transaxle 75W/90, but there are loads of suppliers for the Spirax oil.

Has anyone had this issue or can they suggest another oil to use to topup.

Thanks.

Have you seen this?

I am not sure why Spirax is not recommended but to my best knowledge, any quality 75W90 should be OK.

Thanks for the reply Greathey,

Phoned up AM Bristol and they can supply the oil for £24 per litre.
Being a transaxle system this supplies the gearbox as well, so probably should go with this.

I will investigate further as when changing the whole system you need 5 litres.

Opie Oils recommends this

https://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-68953-motul-gear-300-...

Bit cheaper than Aston at £19 a litre.

Lots of others you could use Like Millers Nanodrive, Fuchs Titan, Millers CRX LS etc. All are top spec stuff.

Never fill with anything other than Castrol BOT270a

The “a” is the giveaway part, stands for Aston and is bespoke blend not replicated in any other 75w90 mix

Thanks for the info Mike,

I have just checked and that is what AM Bristol supplied when I bought 1L today.
Is good to know for the future when I do a full oil change.

Changing the subject slightly - The owners handbook suggests using Castrol edge
for the engine oil, but AM Bristol use Mobil 1 does it matter?

Thanks.

Just had my engine oil service done today and used Motul 8100x 10w60 as used by Redpants. Opie Oils supply and there’s 15% off for first order.

I think the dealer network switched to using Mobil 10w60 from the Castrol 10w60 specified at original production. Both / either is fine, both top quality oils and because both are fully synthetic, they can be mixed (although as best practice I never would).

Has anyone ever used Millers TRX1219M? I found a TSB recommending it over BOT270A

If your transmission is manual it should be ok

If it's a sportshift ONLY USE ASTON MARTIN RECOMMENDED OIL

This is extremely important
