Had a VERY enjoyable journey back from S'boro, not held up once, sun shining, music on and my non car driver brother in the passenger seat making more strange noises than the car!!

Thought it might have been your goodself!

I was in Helmsley all weekend staying at the Feversham due to friends getting married. Not many motorbikes in the square (unusually), they will all be there (10,000+) in 2 weekends time due to annual meet. Plus Croft trackday that Sunday, should be a good weekend.

Very few bikes at all, no doubt all were at Croft for the BSB races, set a personal best for the journey

Am yet to see another Noble on the road, only on track!

Hi Guys,

Do you fancy a run at Croft on 27th July?

Hexham HC have a TVR and Noble Owners Track day, and it looks like I might be the only Noble there to play with the TVR's. (Other than Tony's M400 demo)

Also, anyone from Midlands or South fancy a run up North.

Croft is a great circuit with both very fast and technical corners. Always a good crack with other drivers. A1 North to Scotch Corner, then approx 4 miles east.

Cheers,
Ian.

Up for it. Just need to be able to start it, it's dead as a dodo. AND I'm meant to be at a track day at Croft on the 19th June.

Push starter button, nothing happens, it's a sort of fuel saving device. Any thoughts?

Does the ignition turn on? (i.e. fuel pump and fans come on)

Could be an immobiliser issue if its not even turning over and headlights work at proper brightness etc.

If so then have you tried using the manual fob to disengage rather than the radio one?

Things to check in order.

Battery flat? They have been known to go flat if not "topped up" regularly. Easiest check is that you can open the door

Then, I assume the stater motor turns? If it doesn't, then go find the relays & fuses that are in the passenger footwell. It's all listed in the drivers handbook.

Check that the starter relay is working fine. You can swap it for another one that's the same in the bank of relays.

If that's fine and the starter motor still won't turn, then you are off to find the master fuse. It's in the main engine bay, and is a big sod off 60A or 80A thing so you can't miss it.

Next to it are two or three smaller fuses. One of these is critical to getting the starter motor to turn, and the other critical to getting the engine to fire. Ensure they are seated and cleaned properly.

If all that fails, come back with what the full symptons are (i.e. what electric works, what doesn't) and I'll see what I can infer from that.

Alternativly call the AA/RAC out - they will probably love to spend 10 mintues or so with their multimeter finding out what's blown

Thanks to Dan H and Joust for replies.

After it happened a friend plus two sons tried to push start it despite me just wanting it in the garage, it wouldn't so they settled for hernias, the drive is quite steep.

Took my print of the replies out to the car tonight and it started first time!!!! Just hoping it's not an intermittent fault. Will remove and replace fuses as suggested to clean them.

Thanks again for the help, great forum. Roll on Croft on the 19th June.

I had the same problem with the button on my 2.5 but it still started on the key okay. Turned out the wiring had decayed somewhat and was easily fixed at a factory service

The non starting thing looks to be an intermittent fault! The car started ok today.

I shut it down, opened the rear clam and found 4 fuses on the right wing and 5 relays above the battery on the bulkhead, took them out checked them, cleaned them replaced them in the right slots and bingo, it won't start.

The dash lights come on normally (Battery, oil). Lots of whirring noises from the engine bay as usual (techno-speak). Exterior lights will turn on.

Any thoughts? I've a few! Will ring Bob at the factory tomorrow.

Final post on non starting car!

Symptoms were (intermittent) non starting, bad enough to be 99% of the time it was cranked, so couldn't go anywhere, even if it started.

Finally found loose wire to starter motor, a challenge in itself as you can only see a titchy bit of the motor from the passenger side of the rear clam.

Off to Croft circuit on Sunday!!!!!!

I had this, was a dry joint on the back of the fuse board, mine did it with key and button not working.

Noble got an autoelectrician out to trace the fault under warrenty, hope your's is simpler!
