I’ve just bought a 997.2 C4S to replace a year old M2 Competition. More than anything I’m nervous about the effect of winter grime and mud on exposed mechanical and structural components. Should I relax and accept that anything that corrodes is easily replaced, and use through winter (in a rural area) regardless?

If you are really worried a good independent will clean it and wax oil it. I had Parr in Crawley do it to my CGT and others I know have had their cars done.

Currently getting my G63 rust proofed with Dinitrol by Pro-Tect Services (Bucks/MK). They are doing a really thorough job.

Check out and protect the tandem pump cover. The rest of the car will cope well.

Unfortunately not everything in a car that corrodes is easily replaced. Have a look at your jacking points usually they become scuffed and can corrode quickly. The corrosion can spread from there. If it were me I would remove all under trays and wheel arch protectors and make absolutely sure there is no existing corrosion and that no mud has built up behind the wheel arch protectors.

Then as suggested, clean it underneath regularly. Drive and Drive sumore.

What’s the best way to clean underneath and also I assume after washing you should go for a spin to dry out wheels, brakes , etc before putting away ? smile
