Hi all. I'm after some recommendations for tyres. I mainly ride in the dry unless caught out so not too fussed on wet performance. I was looking at pirelli supercorsa SP's however I've heard the wear on these are no joke and don't heat up so well in colder conditions. So now I'm looking at the pirelli rosso corsa 2's and michelin road 5's as they seem to be highly rated. Has anyone had any experience with either of these tyres? TIA

Rosso corsa 2 all day long for me, they last long enough (there are other longer lasting tyres) grip amazingly, warm up pretty quickly, perfectly good enough if you get caught out or make the odd trip in the wet and look good.

Rosso 3 is meant to be a step on and last longer but i haven't tried these yet.

Rosso corsa 2 and Rosso 3 are both great and all you need for the road, both warm up quickly, Rosso 3 slighty better mileage but not much in it, both work well on track, Rosso 2 are more track focussed.

Meant to say, I’ve used both and they more go to tyres, Rosso corsa 2 for summer road riding and trackdays, Rosso 3 for touring and general road riding, although I used them a few times on track and only starting moving at Donington as it was 37 degrees, basically every tyre was shagged by the end of the day

I ran the Supercorsa for a few years as thats what my bike came with. Doing around 3k miles a year would be putting a new set on every 2 to 2500 miles.

Last year I changed to Rosso Corsa II and so far 3000 miles in and plenty of wear left as I put this bike away for winter. Look like they will easy do 4000 miles + of road use, so twice as much as the Supercorsa.

Not noticed any downsides for quick road use. I dont think I really ride hard enough on the road to get the real benefit of a Supercorsa.

This is an honest answer, I don't think you can seriously abuse and use a super Corsa for the road and honestly say you need it, I will be replacing the super Corsa with the Rosso Corsa 2 next, cracking tire.

Michellin Power RS+ for me.

I've ran these for 2 years now and do between 8k & 10k miles a year on road and track and in all weathers (-2c this morning) and can't pick fault with them.

I know that Birky on here has just fitted a set to his bike after asking opinions on them on here, so it would be interesting to hear his opinion on them too.

As mak said, supercorsa are amazing but for me it's summer only and you need to ride like a helmet to really feel the benefit... They are amazing but for me a set of rosso corsa 2 would be on my list all day long in summer

As for winter tyres, as above and Toxicnerve honestly mich power rs+ are simply amazing for their wet grip, feel and consistency. I've only done one road ride and it was circa 150ish miles but my initial impressions for winter, cold, wet and dry was very good

I need to put a couple thousand miles and push them a bit when dry to see how they react. So far so good

I will recommend the PR5's. They last between 7000 and 7500 miles on my H2 SX (190bhp at the wheel) and allow for levels of fun that push my ability and what is anywhere near safe on the road, to the limit, without the slightest complaint or untoward moment.

Stable at speed, even fully loaded with tank bag, panniers and tail pack

Great in the dry and in the wet. What more could you want on the road?
