Gatwick airport parking

. On leaving the car park there a few years ago and trying to pay by credit card in the machine, it ate my card. I went to the bloke in a nearby office who came over to assist. By this time there was quite a queue behind me so he just opened the box, gave me my card back and let me go through free! Nice man 
Also quite handy when your old chap lives just down the road
Although you do have to leave your car with him for the duration of your trip, only to return to find he's been 'using' the car, has embaced the 'scooby wave' to the embarrassment of his passengers and the whole episode has kicked in his second mid-life crisis and now wants to buy a fast car and the step-mother has got the hump with me cos it's all my fault for lending him the car in the first place.
On second thoughts, perhaps I'll just pay to park next time!

Just had a week away. Flew from Gatwick early AM no way was going to get there that early so stayed in Holiday Inn approx 1 mile away. Including 8 days parking and car delievered to terminal on return £111. Great service.
Yep, every time we've flown from Gatwick or Heathrow it's always been cheaper to get a hotel with free parking for a week or two rather than just pay for parking.
I flew from Gatwick on the 27th May and left the car in Long Stay on Airport cost around £70 for the week.
Wifes brother parked at APH at Crawley Down, we drove past there as he drove in. He arrived at North Terminal by coach same time as we did. His parking was £44 for the week. Booked via the AA.
So if an AA member might be worth trying them. Only problem is that you leave the keys with them and they park it for you.

buses from the car park to the terminal and always seems easy enough. Pre-pay as well, so takes some of the hassle away.

Used them for years. They are a 10 minute coach trip from the airport, and the buses run very frequently. Last time we went was two seperate weeks in Jan. One was about £40, the other about £33. Don't ask me why, something to do with peak weeks.
