Just went looking for the "members who drop off the map" thread, which it seems got killed.

I remember 308mate used to post on here a lot, then he changed his name to something else and now I've no idea whether he's about or not. Only came to mind apropos my R1200RT dilemma, I know he had one and he offered me some helpful input back when I bought mine.

Just wondered where he got to or who he is now!

That was what I meant in my OP - I searched that thread, then when I clicked it said redirecting, it redirected to the Mods area and came back as "nothing to see here"

So it obv got killed but I don't know why. Probably too many people asking what ID Loon had changed to this week

308mate changed his name a few years ago but changed it back after I suggested it was crap.

He's moved to America

A few people questioned what happened to a once prominent senior figure around these parts and by the looks of it, a well known bleeding heart took offence. After that, it’s days were very very short lived.
