Hi,
My insignia cdti has been recovered as it would not start. The battery was strong and it turned over fine but would not fire. The mechanic checked fuel delivery at the injectors and it seemed ok. It started with a few squirts of easy start into the intake but would not rev and spluttered to a stop.
I had way too much weight in the boot (bags of cement, latex, fluids and a very heavy roll of florr vinyl) and wonder if I have disturbed some sensor or similar?
The car drove to is resting place ok but the wheels were up I to the arch but I did not notice any bottoming out.
The mechanics cheap OBD diagnostics did not see any fault code.
Any ideas what it might be?
Scholester.

A basic obd reader will only show very basic engine codes.

You'll need to plugged into an opcom/tech2 reader for other codes.

Alternatively, you could try opel can scan tool for android with a Bluetooth obd2 reader.

I was able to diagnose climate control issues with that app on my insignia, it wasn't showing any codes.

Is it a estate? Some have self legging leveling dampers, hopefully you haven't broken them as they are about £600 each.

Thanks for the reply - yes an estate.
I was recovered to a garage that will have a more sophisticated reader for sure so let's hope a related code can be read.

The unfortunate thing is that the car is miles from home and the garage may have me over a barrel.

You could always empty the boot if you think it's connected.

🤪
The boot was emptied but didn't know whether an impact swigch/sensor had been triggered that may have needed a reset. Like I say - didn't have a reader in the car to give me s steer.

One of my old car's (Triumph 2,5 pi i think) had the fuel pump inertia switch in the boot and could be triggered by dropping heavy objects into the boot.
