Does anyone have a Carnewal exhaust fitted?
Interested in this particular system as it uses original parts and is a straight swop.
How intrusive is it over distance? Any feedback appreciated..

Yes I have one, it’s not intrusive from in the car but others can hear you coming from 2 miles away, no I am not joking.

In fact you can have it in exchange for your stock exhaust, if you pay for removal/fitting. I’m in the north west.

I've had it on 2 of my cars, a 987 2.7 and a 987S 3.2, and would say it was not in any way intrusive at any revs and certainly no drone
It is much more about the sound than the volume although it does add some volume
The 997 4S I got afterwards was significantly louder with PSE
I honestly wouldn't worry about it at all

If this would fit a 987 3.2 and the offer is still open I’ll do It?

I’m in Yorkshire btw

A little extra feedback (987.1 3.4)

With stock tailpipes it sounds mint.. perfect in every way.

With the tailpipes from a 981 (true twin pipes) it is louder, deeper and pops more. Has a novelty factor but while the 981 tails look perfect on the 987, its not as peachy as the stock tail pipes at high revs.

BTW... Heel and toe rewards with the Carnewal soundtrack.

I drove over to Gerts to have mine swapped out.. a great roadtrip.

Anyone considered the "gundo" hack on a 987.2?

Sounds pretty good to me!

Deciding between this and the Carnewal for my 987.2 CS

Yes. I have done my 987.2 S

Did my own version of a carnewal after a couple of attempts, basically guessed how they did it . Still has the cats. Sounds good to me some would say still a little quiet. The gen2 carnewal sound much quieter than gen 1.
Deeper sound than the video you posted.

You mean you have done the Gundo hack?
Any videos?

Very interested, also let us know which diameter piping etc...

Thanks!

Not sure what the Gundo hack is for a 987.2 as gundo was always an external by pass ? However I have done what I consider to be the Carnewal. So I opened up the silencers chopped some bits and welded it back. All my own guesswork though. No pipework required just some removal on a gen 2.

I had my 987.1, 2007 3.4s done at Gerts place.

My wife and I loved it, sounds epic when you boot it, almost standard on steady throttle. Amazing mod and not a boy racer exhaust in any way.

Sorry, I have only just seen this. I wrongly assumed the OP had a 981.

This is very interesting as I have always thought that the 987 "twin" tailpipes ought to be replaced given their fakeness. Do the 981 pipes bolt straight on?

I have the Carnewal on my 987 and it is a perfect upgrade. I still think its a little too quiet with the roof up, but roof down its spot on. Much more noise when following than when in the car and lots of pops, crackles happening which you don't notice inside. I was surprised when I had the go pro external mike taped near the rear of the car as to what it picked up.
