Rare '90s Classic Saved!

So, where to begin...
Girlfriend's friend's father sadly passed away a few weeks ago and I was told that he had a rare old Japanese classic that has sat outside his farm cottage for the last ten years or so.
The family had asked scrap men to take it away, but due to the remote location, they wanted paying to collect.
I'm a "car person", so I was asked if I would be interested in it?
Not wanting to sound too enthusiastic, too right I would.
What could it be, an old Datsun 240Z, RX7, Toyota Corolla Twin Cam, who knows...?
Anyway, when I arrived, it turns out they should have just said Asian, rather than Japanese, talk about being miss led
So would anyone care to take a guess before I reveal all?

I can't seem to load any photos at the moment, so even the forum doesn't like it!
I can't bring myself to scrap it as It's only done 44,000 miles and the engine is sweet, but what can I do with it?
Keep it for Retrorides and have an almost unique car.
Sell it to someone who wants to p*ss a neighbour off?
I'm open to suggestions

I assume this is the baby you have put on car & Classic & at £275 it must be the cheapest car I have ever seen on there, It does seem a shame to scrap it though.

IMO a classic is something that was around when you were a kid / your dad had / was your first car etc, there are plenty of people around now who can drive who were kids when that was new so not completely ridiculous that someone might want it - everyone can't afford an E type so might be a good starter classic for someone.

I had a Satria GTI about 4 years ago, bought it for around £800, had it a couple of years, but It needed too much work/expense underneath to get it through it's next MOT so I put it on eBay for spares/repair with a 99p starting price.
Sold for over £800, with no MOT. The guy who won it buys as many as possible, strips them down and sends them back to Malaysia!

I had a similar experience last year, clearing a house for the family of the deceased.
Was told there was a car to be disposed of when quoting for the job, started getting excited just to be met with...
I'm a sucker for any old motor and will always try to keep something on the road for a laugh but this thing had serious rot in the inner sills and floors, also a slippy clutch meant it was curtains for the Lantra and was weighed in shortly after!

He split up with his missus and packed it off to New Zealand to broaden his horizons. His banger purchasing days in Wales are on hold. I can't see him pulling out there though, with his socks and sandals look. I got the sense that most of his dodgy purchases came via the Autos
