Hello

for various reasons I was considering purchasing and importing from Ireland a new 911. When I called Porsche Dublin earlier this year they refused to offer this service. Further, I had noticed that the porschedublin.ie website always quoted prices in GBP and was wondering why that was, since it is a EUR country. If I remember correctly it quoted the same GBP prices as the UK website. Having checked today, I see that it has EUR prices, and the one for the 911 are about 50% above those in, say, Germany. Does anyone know why that is? Taxes? I assume so, since the Taycan prices are more aligned to Germany prices.

Thanks
Daniel

Yes import duty. Called VRT. Also a higher vat rate of 23%.

They won’t sell you a new car to export directly. If it’s second hand and sitting in the dealership that would be a potentially different conversation.
