Having explored the GT 2 door, I'm thinking a larger car would meet the needs better. allow for some nice quick cross country travel.

have around 10-13k to spend total.
Generous 45p mile mileage and fuel costs covered.

Looking at the XF/XJ R 5.0l V8 but would like alternatives if possible.

I'd probably get a BMW 335i Touring and turn the wick up on it.

Or go a bit "blunt force" and get a 300C SRT8 estate.

Lacking 200odd Bhp to be worthy of a super saloon or super estate. Diesels can have the power of this suggested car. I’ll leave that hang - DIESELS can have that power... enough said

Just because it drinks from the black pump, doesn't mean it should be vilified. Highly tuned diesels are capable of big power.

Not an endorsement for a vauxhall btw.

As much as I love how the AMG Mercs sound, I'm still a big fan of a manual gearbox so I'd look for a manual E9* 335i and get it mapped!

But if an auto is OK maybe a mapped 335d would work, although it won't have much of a soundtrack.

I really don’t know what you’re talking about and I’ve checked the link.
The VXR supersport is a petrol V6 with manual and 320bhp and available as an estate

I had no idea that any of these were this cheap. Especially they VXR8 - thought they were all over 15k at least.

300C SRT-8? 6.4 litre Hemi and lots of ponies.
