Hi guys so recently got my windows tinted all round my mk7 golf R. Every time I press the rear window heater I lose radio signal? Can’t figure it out, the radio just goes mute an mute sign appears, soon as I turn the heater off it then works again instantly, makes no sense? Also had a remap done a few days prior but didn’t actually test the heater at that time. But all I have literally done is mapped the car and had the windows tinted 20% all round and the radios playing up when rear window heating is selected

Any ideas?

Is that DAB only and FM works fine?

It's your tints being conductive. The aeral is in the rear screen using the heating wires.

It shouldn't affect the sat nav as that's done by the GPS.

The simple solution is to put the air con on full blast on forward vents and then direct them to the rear. It'll clear in no time. beer

Don’t get me get started on the air con, car fogs up like anything, having to drive around with a/c on 24/7 to stop the condensation build up in the morning grrr. Clears up soon enough once driving but useless when the fans on at a stand still first thing in the morning, it’s actually quite dangerous have to set off with 5% view of the road ahead frown

Do the inside of the windows with Autoglym car glass polish as it contains an anti fog agent. Really good stuff.

Yep the inside. Its fine to use on the outside but surely you have heated mirrors?

Yes mate but again first thing in the morning there clouded up. Maybe I’m being fussy coming from years of BMW’s, the golf isn’t as quick. I’ll try the autoglym stuff though for sure, hopefully Halfords got them on offer over BF
