Leeds North East Conservative candidate Amjad Bashir has been suspended by the party because of comments made about jews.

I assume its too late to nominate someone else and even if they did the ballot papers have already gone to print. I guess he can stand as an independent but can the Conservative party replace him as their candidate at the ballot or is it too late? Im sure they wouldnt want a constituency without a candidate?

I think what happens now is we get to hear again how Islamophobic the Tory party is.

Ex-UKIP imagine my surprise.

I read it and assume that he would be free to continue to run as an independent but that the Conservative Party couldn't put forward a different candidate as the candidate applies not the party.
