Hi, everyone.

I’m looking for some help/advice about the Corsa Sting R.

I’ve found one for sale with extremely low mileage and a great price. All vehicle checks passed, MOT’s passed. My concern is that it’s only done 60 miles or so in the last 20 months, since it was MOT’d in March 2018.

The dealer is reputable. On further inspection, there are quite a few other Sting R’s available at the same age, with similarly low mileage. There’s even another one that’s also not been driven for over 18 months. See here - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201...

Do any of you know of any reasons why this particular model would’ve been sat like this? Would you be put off by it?

Really appreciate any help you can give me.

Thank you,

Ste.

Got to be honest when I read your title I didn't even know what a Sting R was!!! Lol! Thought perhaps predictive text had somehow changed VXR to Sting R.

Anyway, car looks good, to be fair its a pretty new car with low miles so I don't think you would need to be overly concerned about buying it. In terms of the mileage since last MOT perhaps it has been for sale since it was MOT'd which suggests on sale for quite a while but not knowing the market for these I can't tell you why that might be.

Good luck.

Haha, yes it’s not quite a ‘piston head’ car is it! It’s actually for my other half.

Thanks for your advice. It’s not the low mileage I’m concerned about, it’s the time it’s spent not doing any that worries me more. Seems like a decent car and I’m at a loss to understand why it hasn’t sold in 18 months!

From the autotrader URL, the car has been on their site since 2018-09-05, so well over a year. Very odd

A four year old, low mileage car for £5k, sounds fine. Other than someone asking you what you drive and having to explain what a Sting R is...
