Voice controlled CCTV & TV
Discussion
Quick version;
What’s the best way of getting hands free, voice controlled Alexa to work with a TV/monitor so I can show Blink CCTV on the screen?
Long version;
I’m getting a Blink XT2 setup delivered tomorrow to replace my Arlo system (which is doing my head in!!). I have Amazon Alexa throughout the house with Hue in every room and Fire stick in the lounge, so I’m sticking with Alexa rather than Apple or Google versions as it works really well now. I’d really like to get a small monitor or tv in the kitchen (we spend most time at home in there) so we can have the tv on or show YouTube recipes or show up the cameras from the front of the house, but I’d love it to be hands free (to as far an extent as possible).
To avoid having another remote to lose, what’s the best way of getting voice activated Alexa on this new tv?
I’ve heard about Amazon Fire TV Blaster but am aware it’s not out for another couple of weeks so I guess experience of it is limited, but it seems like it will do the job if I couple it with another fire stick and an existing echo we have.
Does anyone have any alternatives to this or any views on whether it’ll work for the kind of thing I’m after? I don’t think it sounds like a bad little way off doing it to be honest, but I think I need convincing that it’ll actually work!!
