Ordered an item from the US on 20 October. Shipped with DHL. Cleared UK Customs on 28 October. Should have been handed to Yodel by DHL for delivery to me, but Yodel's tracking page says "Your parcel will be with us soon" and "Estimated delivery date: Unavailable at this time", which suggests that they're still waiting for it from DHL.

As the seller has been woefully inactive in chasing DHL to find out where my parcel is I've lost patience and raised a dispute with PayPal. Under the message that I had to type in it states the following...

You may escalate this to a claim on or before 9 December 2019 at 21:05:10 GMT. If this case hasn't been resolved by 9 December 2019 at 21:05:10 GMT, it will be closed automatically. You won't be able to re-open this case.

What does this mean? If the case hasn't been resolved by 9 December that it will be closed and I can't reopen it, and as such my money is gone and there's nothing I can do about it? That's how it seems to read. Do I need to make sure I escalate it before 9 December to be sure that I'll get my money back?

Yes.

My tactics for Paypal disputes is to state my case in the email to the seller.

I then escalate the case straight away and leave Paypal and the seller to sort it out between them.

Usually works.

If you don't get Paypal involved straight away then the seller can drag things out to try to crawl over the deadline date.

Cheers - I'll escalate it tomorrow if I haven't heard anything by the end of the day.
