"If the other Honda MotoGP riders hoped Marc Marquez might push for an easier handling bike for the 2020 season, they probably shouldn't hold their breath.

"If you have an easier bike, it will help all the Honda riders, but my target is to have the fastest bike," Marquez said at the end of this week's Valencia test, where he spent two days working on next year's prototype RC213V.

"It doesn't matter if it's difficult or not, what I want is to try to win. It doesn't matter if I need to push more or less on the riding."

Cal Crutchlow has expressed disappointment at Honda’s refusal to return three engineers that left his corner of the LCR garage at the close of 2018, feeling they “should make me stronger, not weaker.”

In a bid to build the ideal squad for Jorge Lorenzo at this time last year, two of Crutchlow’s electronics technicians – Arlan Holterman and Marco Barbiani – were moved up to the factory squad, as well as experienced engineer Gianni Berti. All three are contracted to HRC.

The move came despite the protestations of the Englishman and crew chief Christophe Bourguinon at the end of last year. “It was disappointing,” Crutchlow said....
... “And they took my guys away from me last year and it was disappointing. And they're not giving them back to me. Even though I think it will not make too much of a difference with Alex. It would make a big difference to me but not really to Alex. He's learning.

Crutchlow in complaining shocker!

I like him really but he loves playing the underdog. No doubt a ring of truth in this as his form seemed to dip 2018 to 2019 (I thought it was because that bd Marquez had made sure the bike was even more difficult).

Exactly. He’s always whinging.

Then on the odd weekend he has decent pace in practice or qually he starts giving it the “I think only me and Marquez have the pace to win this weekend”.
10 laps in and he’s visibly on the ragged edge, in P5/6. 15 laps in and he’s in the gravel.
He does nothing to help himself.
Cal, if you qualify well, keep your mouth shut until after the bloody race. Let your riding do the talking.

I’ve very little time for him me. He used to be a bit of a joker in the early days. He had Matt Daniels lost passport and things on the grid one race.
Just seems now that the longer he races, the more miserable he’s getting.

He’ll have honestly thought he might have got the HRC ride which is why he was poo-pooing Zarco.
Now he’s in a huff due to AM coming up so he’s whinging about stolen engineers.

I honestly would love to support him as he’s a Brit, but he just gets on my tits.

Back on topic. To be fair to Marc he’s being honest and it makes sense. If he can get a fast but lairy bike to work then that’s what he’ll do.
It’s up to Honda to support the other riders not Marc, but they won’t as it’s simply the Marc Marquez show.
HRC will crap their pants when he eventually gets an injury. (And no I’m not in any way wishing for one, much as I think this year has been boring due to him clearing off).

Look's like next years going to be his last year .

What realistically does he think he's going to achieve ?

End of next year he'll just be more injured than now , surely retiring now and being able cycle into his long age is better than another mediocre year and more injuries ( or never recovering from his current ankle injuries )

I take your point, but neither of us have ridden GP bikes at Works level.....Im not quite so sure hes wuite ready to retire....the RCV is nightmare to ride in reallity, BUT get it right and its FAF.......

gp is just SO tight these days, it all to easy to knock...

Well he's struggled this year and Marquez is saying next year's bike is faster but harder to ride.

I'm not knocking crutchlow but it would be a disaster if he retired to California totally injured so he can't cycle anymore.

Personally I'd love to see him set up a cycle race team like Ben spies did.

Wether or not he speaks the truth or not about it being harder but faster it’s certainly good mind games.

Marcs not going to want to go backwards on his performance this year, so he’s certainly going to be giving it his absolute best again, imagine all the haters if he is even more dominant next year!
