Hey guys I’ve bought a scirocco 2013. When braking in normal or any driving mode I can feel the dsg going down the gears. Like It’s engine braking. Is this normal or is there something that needs looking at?
It is going down through the gears so it’s exactly like that. Typical less noticeable in the higher gears but you can feel it dropping to 3rd or 2nd. You will notice it drop gears if braking going downhill too.
This is what I don't like about DSG. I hired a 2018 Touareg over the summer and in that you could turn off Engine Braking in the gearbox settings. It helped, but wasn't the same as driving a torque converter slushbox, which I prefer.
