I am about to buy a forward facing child seat for my 6 month-old son and have decided to get an ISOFIX one as they claim to be the best available.

My car (2002 A4 Avant) has 2 bolt holes in the metal behind the seat base (which I assume to be for ISOFIX) but no actual ISOFIX brackets. Is this something I can add myself (it looks like a simple bolt-in) or is some special equipment or expertise required?

I was in an Audi dealership ordering my new car on tuesday and the ISOFIX seat system was on the options list as a no cost option. I was told by the sales manager that it is a non-retro fit Item as the d-ring style brakets are part of the cars sub frame

Hmmm, my girlfriend went to a Audi dealer who told her that they could fit this for an hours labour plus parts?!?!?

An 02 A4 is the B6 model and ISOFIX is available for retro-fit (the handbook says so).

At 6 months your child is a bit young for forward facing seats. Perhaps wait a few months?

The Audi Duo ISOFIX seat is excellent but is currently out of stock in the UK and Germany.
