Hi looking to purchase a Mediapad M5.

I gather the licence to revoke has been extended for another 90 days?

https://www.xda-developers.com/google-revoke-huawe...

Was going to buy a tablet for the wife, but the Lenovo Tab4 plus have dire support and Huawei was next on the list.

Although no point buying if its going to become a brick!

Don't you care about the reasons why Google are pulling support in the first place?

Haven't they been forced to by the US government types (who absolutely do no spying of their own)?

Exactly. Personally I wouldn't buy their stuff as you don't know when support will be denied and if Google has to pull support then apps will stop working if they rely on any of Googles authentication etc. The reasons why Google are pulling support are purely down to the fact that they are forced to by a purely political trade dispute masquerading as a spying issue.

I'd take a look at the Samsung Tablets if you want an alternative. The Tab A is meant to be quite nice for a budget tablet of the S5e.

Aaah Samsung.

Looks like a winner. Its for the wife and she mainly uses it for streaming, downloads, surfing and my son may want to play Minecraft on it.
