Kodiaq cutting out at speed

Interesting commute this morning in the family bus. Outside lane of the M40 at motorway speed, suddenly lost all power from the engine, so was coasting uphill. Not the nicest. Managed to pull over and restarted it, seemed to be fine so off I went. Hit some stop start traffic by a junction, I stopped but didn't start. Car refused to turn over after the Stop Start kicked in. Got a shove from lane 2 to the hard shoulder and the car is now with Skoda.
Not heard from them yet, but it's a 6 month old car, with 9k motorway miles on. No warning prior to it cutting out and the diagnostics from the VAG tech who came out to help me said there was nothing there prior to the car cutting out. It's a 190(I think)hp TDI and if you Google Skoda (or any car for that matter) cutting out, you'll find all manner of horror stories.
Does anybody have any experience of this or idea what it could be?
