Reprogramming MK4.5 Mondeo Key

Is anyone able to help with this one?

Picked up an 11-plate MK4.5 (MK4 facelift) Mondeo last night with the keyless start so no ignition key.

The first fob works perfectly. The second fob doesn't work whatsoever.

The owner's manual gives the ignition on and off 4 times in six seconds but I don't have an ignition barrel. Any time I try to cycle the ignition 4 times with the clutch in the engine starts, but not sure what the correct procedure is. Or is the remote actually dead I wonder?

Tried that too

Put in fresh Duracell batteries this evening, but only the one works as before. Bloody annoying!
