Boxster S 987.1 Bonnet (front hood) removal
Discussion
Hi,
The front end, including the bonnet, of my 2008 Boxster had been resprayed just before I bought it. Even so, the paintwork on the bonnet was pretty poor and over time little blisters have appeared. A local bodyshop re-sprayed it last year but again tiny bubbles have appeared. The paintwork can't be knocked back/flattened as there is a risk of exposing the primer underneath.
The bodyshop now wants to remove all the paint completely, i.e. have it blasted back to bare metal, and then re-spray it. The problem is they have nowhere to store the car so I'm going to have to remove the bonnet and take it to them.
So, my question, how easy is it to remove the bonnet? Any gotchas?
Thanks,
Phil
