Anyone going?
Where are you staying?

I’ve never been but seriously considering it for next year. I noticed a lot of hotels are already booked up.
I was hoping to avoid too much driving so may have to try that camping mularky.

It’s open to anyone.
I was just wondering how many on the AM forum we’re planning to go. Maybe a chance to meet a few folks.

Seriously considering it again this year. I went four years ago with the TVRcc and it was epic. I camped which was ok actually, though I may pay for a pre-erected version this year. Secure parking and next to tent, food laid on. So much better than the usual LeMans imo driving

Probably (very probably) going.

The infield club parking for eligible cars on the Bugatti circuit is great way of getting in, either with AMOC or Pistonheads. In it's very hot etc AMOC marquee good as drinks and shade and somewhere to rest and can also leave cameras and other stuff in car for a while rather than having to lug it around all day. Do private camping inside Porsche curves (excellent bar and trackside)- which is great for access infield (car was a bit dusty at end) and saves walking or private bus transfers. Trackside too so got up at 4am for hour and watched the Grid containing most of the GT40s blast round from top of Porsche curves banking- think 7 leading cars all in a line with glowing discs. You can get AMOC/Pistonheads infield for free I think through 1st Tickets but don't have to stay with them

Hotels mean driving in and out more and does get busy if not in early.

Also did a parade lap - costly but just got over 3 full laps and a bit stop start but quite a lot of fast bits smile .

Turning onto the track with lots of Astons, TVRs and Porsches etc but Ford chicane and accelerating up start straight with all the noise rebounding off the grandstands and pits etc is pretty good.

Have done a couple of night visits to Mulsanne corner in previous trips as cars accelerate towards fastest part of circuit and kink before Indianapolis when camped offsite.

Tribunes/stands are cheaper than main race and a good way of seeing start.

2018 seemed to have more gaps as I think they did Le Mans starts all the time (and then form up behind pace car)- so there were more gaps between the Grids with gaps on track with not much happening. Some of the early Grids are a bit sedate.

Arrive Thursday and go home Monday as admission normally only Friday to Monday but they may open Thursday pm next year. Friday is a big car show walk around day like Silverstone classic but all the Grid paddocks are much better laid out and more accessible.

Forgot to add the drive down and back is great with great cars on road.

Lots of threads in Le Mans forums including this one (are others but best to search back in 2018 or 2016):

I'm going with a few other chums.
Staying in the north part of LM near to the tram line which solves the problem of driving in & out of the circuit.

Booked the Eurotunnel now, together with a few hotels en route. Planning to camp with PH at Bleu Nord private camp site.

Leaving Inverness/Home on Tuesday 30th June, stopping at Morgan Garage/Pit Stop near Stanstead for the night before heading into France on 1st July.
One night in Alencon before I have to rough it from Thursday - Monday morning.
Hope to meet up with some of you somewhere that week.
