Mrs has a moda mio machine at the moment she really likes it but not a huge choice of pods

Soooo was thinking of getting her a nespresso machine

But what one? it would make maybe 3 cups a day arnt interested in the subscription side of it really.

But any good deals at the moment and is the smaller pod better to go for as you can get the compatible pods?

Our standard pod machine makes about 8 cups on a Sunday morning without batting an eyelid.

The newer bigger pods aren’t worth it in my view .

Machines can be had for around £60ish and there’s always a welcome seL for
Capsules with a new
Machine.

You may even get a free aerocino with some
Machines, which is excellent for frothing milk.

It’s important to note that Nespresso machines make espressos and slightly larger variants only. I messed around for years trying to make good Americanos with Nespresso machines and they were never satisfactory.

If you are the type of person who wants a mug of coffee, then you need the Nespresso vertuo.

Hurry up though, there are excellent Black Friday deals on at the moment.

We bought one of these recently, we use it just for lattes and hot chocolate.
Pod choice is good but the machine is a basic manual operation so you need to judge liquid quantity.
Does the job though.

I've been happily using Tassimo machines for the last few years, there's plenty of choice and the quality is good, miles better than instant but probably not as good as regurgitated monkey st beans hand roasted by a virgin that some would have you believe you MUST have as nothing else will suffice.

B2C. Better than pods, no tie-in to branded pods, not much more expensive for the machine in the first place, beans cheaper than pods in the long run.

An Americano is an espresso diluted with hot water.
IMO a nespresso is ideal- I either use a strong espresso or a Lungo and add hot water from the kettle (or you can always run some through the machine).
Used the Vertuo on holiday and really couldn’t see much of a difference.

If you like coffee you really need a bean to cup machine, anything else is just not acceptable IMO.

I have a Tassimo or rather had one years ago but it's probably thrown out now, my Gaggia bean to cup gets used daily and never disappoints.

the mrs can only just turn the tv on, bean to cup may be a step too far !

like i say an average day she makes maybe 3-4 cups thats it. She wouldnt want anything that takes too long.

I did see the dualit 4in1 that does nespresso, ground and some other pods i think their own format seemed decent And looks nice

Currently running a Sage Creatista Uno at home, makes a cracking flat white. Only complaint is that the minimum amount of milk required to make any drink is quite a bit, so I invariably end up throwing away quite a bit.

Got a Vertue for the office, made two drinks and got the red light of death. Straight back to JL for replacement and went with a regular Nespresso machine.

Nothing more to B2C than pour in water and beans, press button, drink coffee. Empty grounds every so often. Probably easier than dicking about with daft pods.

No idea, I don't do decaff, but I'd wager that it's impossible to get decaff whole beans. Didn't realise that was a requirement. Might as well stick with pods then, but if it were me I'd avoid them like the plague for cost, and inconvenience of having to stick to one type of pod, reasons.

We have Dolce Gusto, and the decaff pods are only available online these days. The supermarkets seem to be selling more of the machiato and latte bks and less of the 'proper' coffee pods.
