Picked up my new T350c over the weekend (see other thread). I have a question about software versions.

My software is "Tamora v6.1" is this correct for a T350c? Can you get periodic software updates?

It has some modes which are apparently disabled such a 'Sport' and something else I can't remember. Have these ever been utilised or are they even now there as options on the main menu but don't do anything?

Cheers!

I did a search and people are talking about some kind of "inteligent shift lights"? Is this something which can be added as a feature to the T350 or is this just for the Sagaris? Sounds useful, but it isn't too hard to keep below 3k rpm so just a little feature that would be nice

Mine says 'Tamora' on start up, so wouldn't worry.

With regards to shift up lights. They can obviously be set to what you want, but was not aware of any 'intelligent' ones.
The Sagaris I drove a few weeks ago certainly didn't have them.

I wasn't too worried about the "Tamora" on startup as after all the T in T350 does stand for Tamora I was told by Dream Machines that it is just the same unit from the Tamora anyway, TVR just didn't update the name.

I was more interested in software updates and how they are done. Is there a standard on-board diagnostic port where things like this can be updated? Or is it an ECU out job? It seems like v6.1 is the latest version anyway so unless they release a new version it probably isn't something to worry about I guess.

Mine says T350 on startup, I think that was changed on cars from mid-2004 onwards. I dont know how upgrades are performed on the software but I have a feeling the latest ECU chip can be retrofitted (at a cost).

As for the up-change lights, I have three on the tacho and I can set the revs at which they each come on in the setup part of the dash computer.

I have an 03 plate T350C. Bought in Jan and had a variety of faults that went off periodically - EFI fault, Air Con Fault and a very irregular Oli Temp Fault that would go off almost everytime i drove it. It would jump from 9 to 180 when cold!

Had the sensor replaced twice but problems returned so had the ECU out and off to Blackpool. Just got it back and so far so good. Can't remember if the software number has changed but faults seem to have gone for now, thank god.

It would be great if we could easily unplug the ECU and do a software update on the net, like say, a Road Angel! Unless someone hacked the site and XXX boobs appeared on the start up!

I'd like to be able to edit the bl00dy software. I'd change the 1 millsecond data display intervals (or whatver they are) for the water temp and others which move around more than an atom in a microwave on full power.

I was thinking of asking these boys! www.mbesystems.com/history.html they make it!

OK They are in Cirencester. I vote we dispatch Chris "upgrade" Watton down to the factory and ask them any chance of a firmware upgrade or better still a friendly chat! If not I am happy to take a day off and blast down to see them.

I just emailed them some questions on behalf of the Tamora register and other speed 6 owners!

Is there anything like VAG-COM for the TVR? I have a cable which I can attach from my laptop serial port to my Leon's OBD port (any VW Audi goup car with an OBD port for that matter) and take a lot of readings from the car using software called VAG-COM (which is available shareware), including faults etc. It is possible to change settings using this and it is also what some tuners use to remap the ECU. Is this something which you can also do on a TVR?
