Approaching the end of contract hire on A4 Allroad. Coming up to 2 years old, 17K miles, good all round car. Audi have given a figure to purchase via BCA. Seems they want all the money. Has anyone been through this process with VWFS and haggled the price down?

I’m ambivalent about it but if I could buy it for a good price I’d probably just keep it.

I would guess that they will want the full amount and won’t budge on the price at all.

I haggled with BCA but only managed a couple of hundred off - the chap told me their margins are quite tight and the quotation is based on auction value they are achieving.
It was still a fair price though - a thousand or two below approved used of similar age/miles.

Thanks, Thinking about it, in 12 months time, it will be a diesel Audi out of warranty, which kind of defeats the object of why I leased it in the first place. Back it will go, I wish them luck selling it any time soon.

What's the WBAC figure, you might just be able to flip it for a profit.

Very odd, WBAC won’t give me a figure. Will try later. My gut feeling is it will be way under what BCA are asking.

Try Evans Halshaw as well, usually a few hundred higher. Motorway is another site but expect to be hounded.

I was quoted the full list price less what I'd paid in lease payments when I enquired about my Golf R last year.

Hardly seemed a 'fair price' given that I could have got some kind of discount off the purchase price originally, if not a huge amount. Their price was more than similar mileage models at some dealers I checked.

I chose to renew my lease (quite a lot cheaper for another year and more miles!), but I'll enquire again next year, but if they're asking for the same it'll be a total joke with the new Golf imminent if not already available.

Interesting. For reference the price I have been quoted plus previous three years of lease cost, deposit etc is about £5k less than the list price when new. (Golf GTI)

yes

Of all the cars I've ever seen on flatbeds, Audi Allroad vehicles of various types and ages seem to predominate.

Yep, nice enough car which has been great, but just too much to go wrong post warranty. It’s going back. If I am to put my own money into another car, it’s going on another Subaru with 5 year warranty.

BCA and WBAC are the same company.
