Any suggestions of apps or pc software capable of extracting corrupted files from my SD card , I dunked my phone momentarily in the North sea , it works ok as a phone now ,( though often tells me the charging port is wet, but there again it is a temperamental charger) but won't recognize any SD cards and the card that was in it has corrupt files for any picture taken by this phone . No they weren't backing up automatically on google either frown

Thanks

I have used a program for this, which I think was called "Recoverit" - I did a quick search and the screen shots look familiar. It does 100Mb of files in the free version, which was enough for me, and once I'd done them I uninstalled it, so I'm not 100% certain on the name. But maybe 90% sure. It allowed me to browse around to find the folder with the images I wanted, that wasn't part of the 100Mb limit.

thanks I'll have a look , i did find an app with I think that name and it found the hidden files but wouldn't preview them without me spending a chunk of money with no guarantee of success. don't mind paying if it can show me the files

Pop it into an SD card reader and into a Windows PC if you have one available.

Then use the free editions of either Recuva or Photorec:

You may find the salt has actually damaged the contacts or the card.
As has been said already recover it on a PC not the dodgy apps that claim to do it on your phone.
