DB9 Sports pack alloy wheels.
Discussion
Hi all,
I'm looking for a used set of DB9 sports pack alloy wheels. Preferably without any tyres.
None for sale on ebay currently, but a set sold for £700 last week (i was gutted as i was bidding for them and they were just withdrawn from sale) and before then earlier in the year for £900 with tyres so im looking at reasonable offers.
Please let me know if you have a set for sale.
Thanks.

The £700 set did have one with slight kirb damage but the others were fine, no tyres but he chucked in a full set of titanium wheel nuts.
The £900 set was a right bargain with new toyo tyres on.
I've noticed in the last few years the cost of used wheels reducing on sites like ebay.

I bought mine with tyres for more like double that. They were completely brand new, mind you. But still. Oh well, yolo
I have not noticed prices drop on eBay, and it looks like I've made a poor investment! [unless I sell them for this in the future]
No. I think you got the good deal Martin. Diamond cut wheels can only be refurbed a certain number of times as the beads get too thin and when you buy second hand you don't know their history. Also, wheels can get buckled and are then a right-off. Anything around £2K for brand new forged wheels with tyres is a good deal IMHO.

I have two front sportspack wheels from a 2009 vantage, 19 inch. I think they are the same. They have been stripped ready for refurb. I needed to replace the two rears but couldn't find any at reasonable price. This will be the second refurb so I would describe as reasonable condition rather than perfect. Same as this

Two rears also available but have split near bolt holes so not really repairable. May make a good couple of coffee tables...

Sorry Paul,
I did find a guy Dave Cooling near Warick that deals in wheels and recently had two sets (both sold).
I have a question:
A lot of the adverts say 'Not or never been refurbished' as if that is a good thing or selling point.
There seems to be issues refurbishing the diamond cut faces (which on some wheels are just laquer on top of the alloy with no powder coating).
If they were to be refurbished, would an extra layer of laquer be a wise move?

Afaik refurbished cut alloys would always be re laquered when being finished. The issue with refurbished alloys, particularly cut face ones, is that you can usually only do a refurb a couple of times before the amount of material remaining on the wheel makes a further repair impossible. So buying refurbed alloys that have been recut once or twice is risky if you have an attraction to kerbs like I do.

Thanks for the reply. It also seems that some of the refurb ones have a complete new powder coat added which eliminates the bare alloy face (which looks good and may even make them more robust).
There are other threads about (other diamond cut wheels) about paint and laquer bubbling where there has been water ingress post a kerbing.
The SP wheels seem quite robust to this but is probably more down to careful/little use owners.
