Strange one this and I've googled and found absolutely nothing do I'm turning to PH for some ideas.

I have a Huawei p20 pro and a few months ago I got a tesla model 3.

I've noticed recently that whenever I accelerate quickly in the car that the screen on my phone illuminates. I've ruled out any apps that could be causing it by deleting anything that I could think of that could be doing it and yet it still does it and it's starting to annoy me now, partly as it's distracting at night but mostly because I just want to bloody well know what's causing it.

Any ideas?

The phone thinks it’s being picked up. It probably has a raise to wake setting you can turn off somewhere.

Bravo. Yes it does have such a setting and yes it is enabled, I shall test this on Sunday when I'm back in the UK. Thanks!

Imagine the embarrassment of having all that power but not even owing an iPhone!

Nice to see a genuine question mocked with a 4:1 ratio.

This sums up why I like and dislike PH in equal measure.

Funny co-incidence this thread popped up, I've recently noticed my dashcam doing similar when I accelerate hard.

It's temporarily plugged into the cig lighter at the moment so at first I just assumed that maybe aux power was being cut briefly for some reason - but I've now come to the conclusion that it must be the G-sensor kicking in and recording an "incident"! smile

Ha, I got this on my Mate 10 Pro, recently upgraded to a Oneplus 7T and same thing. Obviously if you can't set your phone screen off while accelerating, your car isn't powerful enough.

I feel your pain.

I had my butler pick up a few bottles of 18 year old Dalmore as Christmas presents and when he accelerated too hard in the Bristol, he broke 6 bottles.

Don't worry, he won't do it again. I've had him flogged.

If you can't wait to get back you could simulate it by running very quickly across a room while holding the phone.

Don't be stupid, nobody can accelerate like a Tesla... Just drop the phone from around 6ft (approx 2 metres).
