Meeting places
Discussion
HI,
I'm based most of the time here in snowy Scandinavia but business is mainly in the UK and there is a growing requirement for me to meet with clients, I have a young family here so I'm reluctant to disappear back to Blighty too much. But I want to meet face-to-face with my customers much more in 2020 as I think this is something they will value.
To do this, I'm thinking of having a day a month where I am located either in/close to an airport I can fly in/out of easily, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend easy/cheap meeting locations that offer some form of quietness and good settings that are close to these airports...
Gatwick
Stanstead
Manchester
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Stansted:
The SAS Raddison next to the terminal is good for meetings and I believe they offer meeting rooms if the open areas are too noisy for you.
Great Dumnow is a short cab or bus ride from the airport and a nice town with several hotels, pubs, cafés.
The Stansted Express can get you to Liverpool Street in 40 minutes or so and there you can take your pick. My two favourites are the bars on the upper floors of Heron Tower and CitizenM hotel by Tower Hill who have really nice meeting rooms. Or you can train it up to Cambridge in 30 mins and plenty of places there. I think the University offers meeting spaces.

In the past I have had my banks and larger suppliers offer me the use of their meeting facilities. Free of charge. They believe it builds a stronger bond with the customer.I'm based most of the time here in snowy Scandinavia but business is mainly in the UK and there is a growing requirement for me to meet with clients, I have a young family here so I'm reluctant to disappear back to Blighty too much. The same with some hotels and restaurants with whom I've had business relationships.
So maybe have a think about whether you have good relationships with any firm with meeting rooms and ask the question. They may happily let you use their facilities.
