Couldn’t see anything about these in the first few pages so started a thread.
I’m not a tech person at all. Only requirements for a phone are a passable camera for when out and about/at gigs/taking pictures of cat etc. and ability to run basic apps like WhatsApp.
I was after a new phone as my two year old iPhone SE is completely goosed so decided to try something a bit different, which hopefully does what it says it does and has lower environmental impacts, fairer wages for workers, etc. I appreciate the tech is a generation or two behind but I’d have only been buying the equivalent from Samsung or whatever for the same price or thereabouts.
Managed to get a good SIM only upgrade on EE with Black Friday plus a discount code and bought the phone through a Sky Mobile handset only deal for a fair bit less than the RRP. Sky are the only mainstream company in the UK offering contracts on these but their (O2’s) signal at work is iffy at best, hence I stayed with EE for a few extra quid.
Anyway, I’ve literally just unboxed it and first impressions are it looks like a phone, it’s massive compared to my old one and there are a few poor design flaws e.g. SIM card entry.
If anyone’s interested in these I’ll happily update the thread with any worthwhile points about the phone and answer any questions.
