Frustratingly, I've checked all the pdf editors shown on PH but I can't find a free/low cost one that simply lets me add pdf pages to a pdf document. Lots seem to allow removal and a ton of other stuff but it's just basic page removal (I can actually get around this) and page addition. I don't mind paying as we use it for work but ....

Interested if you get any replies. I would like to do something similar but don't want to pay the Adobe subscription for very occasional use.

I have NitroPDF on the work laptop, I assume they pay for it but it's pretty good.

The standard PDF viewer on Macs can do a lot of this also.

Assume you're on Windows? The inbuilt Preview app on Mac is very good for this sort of stuff biggrin

Edit: beaten to it, above getmecoat

I used https://www.pdf2go.com/ for a while at work (the free version), before I got the full fat version of Acrobat. It did everything I needed it to.

However, you are uploading documents to a third party site that says it will delete them after you've finished, so you'd have to be clear about any security and/or GDPR issues.

When you say add do you mean you have these .pdf and you want to combine them?

https://combinepdf.com/ is free and does jpgs and other stuff to pdf too.

https://www.ilovepdf.com/ is also free and does everything you could possibly want to do to a .pdf

PaperPort can do this: http://paperport.helpmax.net/en/learning-paperport...

It's a very small feature of the whole package but it works well. I use it all the time to help keep my home paper-free.

You can usually pick it up cheaply on eBay.

The only downside is that it hasn't been updated in years and it's showing its age.

Thanks, these just stick 2 pdfs together. I can't insert the pages within another pdf.

All these editors and none, apart from possible Adobe, can do such a basic thing mad

My link lets you combine pdf files and then organise the pages - resort or delete.

Ok thanks, I'll have another look. It didn't mention that on the site.

Of course you can. Use the Merge facility. It allows you to load two different files and merge them. If you want to insert pages simply split the one you want to insert into and then go from the Split facility to the merge facility and insert the .pdf you want inserting. I do it all the time. No offence but I don't think you're using all the features available to you.

I recognised that I could do it that way but we deal with lots of documents like this and this is an unnecessary faff. Adobe can do it simply but it can't be the only one.

Right ok, I only have to do it occasionally so not such a faff for me.

I use PDFfill. Its primariy a form filler but it does insert and delete PDF pages well.
I have used it for large documents.
I'm on version 12.
It is poor if you want to edit text within a PDF document

PDF Element.

Interface isn't the slickest at times, but I find it decent enough for amending PDFs, including inserting pages etc.

Not sure on definition of "low cost" - 60USD for a perpetual license.

I'm still a bit confused by this. So, if I have a 2 page .pdf nd I want to insert a page between say, pages 8 & 9 I can do that easily by splitting the .pdf into two at that point then using the merge facility I can bring another .pdf into the work area and add it in between the previously split .pdf (which now two) by merging all three. Surely that achieve what you want? confused

It does but it's a bit more of a faff and as we do this a lot the slicker and easier it is the better.
