Went out on the 1200GS for the first time in a few weeks and noticed the clock was an hour fast. Odd, since it takes the time from the GPS, a Navigator V. Then I noticed the date was 15/4/2000, this explains the time being exactly an hour fast, it's on summer time.

Once I got home I disconnected the GPS and yes, it's an hour fast, but I couldn't find anyway of setting the date.

Apparently this is a Garmin issue and they are trying to find a fix. It seems that although BMW GPS units are basically Garmin Zumos, but the name and the higher price aren't the only differences. BMW also arrange for crap software so their units couldn't cope with something called the 'GPS rollover' on November 3rd.

The GPS navigation function still seems to work OK, so it's just a question of setting the bike so it doesn't take the date from the GPS. Presumably I'm expected to bin my two year old Navigator V and spend £600 + on a Navigator VI.

I had the same problem with my TomTom Rider 5 and eventually they issued an update that sorted the problem.

A quick Google search came up with this

Hope you get it sorted.
