Hi. At first we thought it was handbrake shoes. Took shoes out of the handbrake - noise still there.
Cleaned up the disc and caliper; greased it up, wound it in and out 10 times - noise still there.
It went in for a service on Friday and the garage put new pads in. This is before we did the above.
Sounds like metal catching noise and you notice it when driving slow (rear passenger side).
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance...

I had this once, turned out to be aftermarket wheel bolts which were too long and catching something in the hub

Try driving in a circle on way and then the other to find which side its on,that may get you closer to the cause,if its the same then my guess would be the prop shaft heat shielding.

Thanks, will try this. Just thought, could it be the wheel bearing? It's doing it when going straight though...

It's doing it when going straight on and when turning in a circle right but not left.

Rusty back plate? Failed wheel bearing? Trans tunnel heat shield, boot floor cracked? Prop centre bearing failed?

If its only making a noise turning right then your problem is between the differential and the wheel on the left (its turning the most). Safely jack it up and turn the wheel in neutral ,good luck.

It definitely seems worse as soon as you lift off the throttle.

Mine's done this a couple of times over the years I've owned it. Seems to stop of its own accord after a couple of days so never fully investigated.

Check the ABS reluctor/trigger ring hasn't swollen (corrosion) causing contact
