Looking to see what the value of a 1987 E plate Carrera sport 3.2, G50 box, 911, is please.

The car has been owned for the last 10 years by mature owner. Genuine 45, 000 miles (backed by history/MOT's).

totally genuine.

Whats the private sale price? Also what would a dealer buy it in for?

thanks

colour/leather also makes a difference,,,,
assuming rhd sensible colour....private sale 17-18 grand...a dealer may offer it north of 20k.
Good 3.2's are becoming harder to find and values are slowly starting to reflect this.

Car is owned by a good mate who is also a garage owner, he has molly coddled it for 10 years - on the road summer only, dehumidified winter etc.

Not sure what the colour is called metalic silver/blue, half leather with black pinstripe inserts.

He has 12 MOT's to verify mileage, first 36K miles on OPC service, since he has changed all filters oil etc. and serviced each year in his own VAG workshop.

Car really is exceptional and drives great.

Finlay, are you looking to buy the car in and trade on or is it a private purchase for yourself?

Ruby

Not really looking for it myself have a nice E46 M3 meantime and a hankering for another Caterham as well!

Rather just trying to get a feel for its value before it goes for sale shortly.

Its RHD by the way!

cheers

Sounds like the sort of car I'm looking for so if you're not interested purchasing yourself and your mate wants to sell please send him in my direction.

Currently looking for a nice 3.2 to go with my Caterham 7 HPC

Finlay, you have enough Caterhams already!

Anyway, this car sounds nice - good colour combination, the G50 box, low miles - I think Clubsport's bang on. I'd be happy to stick it on the PCGB club website for you - but an advert in Porsche Post will sell it - and you don't have to be a PCGB member (IIRC) to stick an ad in there. Mail me thru Pistonheads if you want me to pass you on details of how to do that.

...all this assuming that the man with the Caterham HPC (good taste, mate - I happen to own an HPC too)...doesn't want it, of course.

FYI, I bought my '88 (J model) black 3.2 Sports Coupe with 82k on the clock in very nice condition and a very comprehensive history in March for £13.5k.

I did then need to spend £2.5k on new exhaust, oil pipes, heater bits and a few other wear and tear type problems - so in total about £16k but you would probably have to spend at least a grand on any 3.2 to get it completely up to scratch.
