Hi, I've always fancied a Geep so I bought one on Friday 27/9/02. All Iknow is that it is a 1990 Q plate Geep with a Ford 2000 engine, I've driven about fifty miles and the clutch cable has snapped!!! The man in the garage reckons it's a sierra engine but information on these Jago pages keep refering to Escorts. Which cable should I purchase? Thanks Liam.

Hi
If it is a 1990 kit then the chances are it is classed as a MK2 Escort based kit.
So you will most likely need the Cortina Mk3 cable.
This is part number 6066674 (VJC 534)
Should you require any further information on parts then it is worth checking the Jago Owners Club Technical site on
http://joctecweb.future.easyspace.com as there is a parts list on that site that has most of the common parts on. Also has a good FAQ page.

Cheers

Thanks the new clutch cable works a treat! I don't suppose you'd know if it's unleaded or not? It seems to run better with LRP but occasionally backfires. P.S I can't seem to get on the technical web site. Oh and is anyone selling a hard top for a geep/sandero? cheers!

If it is a 2 litre Sierra OHC then look on the head next to number four sparkplug
If it has one of the following marking then Ford designed it to run unleaded.
L P PP R RR
If not then unless someone has had the head off and had the correct exhaust valves and seats fitted then it can not run unleaded for to long before valve recession occurs.

It seems a bit puzzling why you are not able to access the technical web site. What happens when you use the link placed in the last message I put on this page?

re the hard top and doors check out the Transmissions site adverts page.
