Catching up via new TX55GZ950 - Dolby Atmos
Discussion
Just bagged a fab Panny OLED with 15% cashback via Topcashback at Currys saving me another £200 (I think its still going ref link) and now realise that I'm a bit behind the times with my Pioneer Kuro and 5.1 setup.
Is Dolby Atmos worth the upgrade (Sony STR DN080 amp gets good ratings) and what is a good (white) speaker to pop on the ceiling (not in - I am not moving beds and wardrobes and carpets and floorboards to sink speakers in ceilings!
Cheers

Atmos is a big move forward in how you perceive sounds!
Up until now, you have had sounds distributed on a horizontal plain. Atmos adds the ability to add triangulated sounds, both higher and lower than a normal 5.1 system.
Get the best amp you can, that includes Audyssey or Even Dirac, if you can push the boat out.
Room EQ software is paramount!
What are your existing speakers?
Slim On-Ceiling White speakers are a little harder than In-Ceiling.
KEF T-Seres are an affordable option.
Triad Micro-Sat 1.0 is a next level up, if the system warrants it.
