I'm having a problem with the passenger window on my V8 Vantage roadster.

When I press the switch in either direction, the window moves for about 0.5 seconds then stops. I then have to release the button and press it again and repeat until the window is full down or up.

I have tried the following:
Disconnect and reconnect the battery.
Remove Fuse 82 and replace.
Recalibrate the windows top and bottom position.

Please can anyone help me with this one?

Try a quick press & release rather than press & hold.

If that system has obstruction sensing, perhaps it's triggering because the window slides are misaligned or too tight.

Thanks for your posts. I have been advised that it will be the "Door control module"
The good news is.... its only £1000+ to replace as you have to do both sides at the same time frown

Are you going to replace the units?

Want to keep it standard?

With some modifications there could be a much cheaper fix for this problem

Thanks for your reply.
I’m all ears if there is a cheaper option.

Just viewed the youtube video about this problem

Didn't know there was a short length drop of the window to clear the trim when opening the door

The cost in labour to modify the circuits would very likely be higher than the new modules

See below, this was done for a TVR Wedge, probably 2 relays less to cure the AM problem but too much work (Labour)

Before going through the procedure for using this set-up, I have added an interior button for the driver to be able to drop the window before opening the door without having to turn the ignition key to Aux position so as to be able to drop the window with the original TVR switch

The operation/procedure for using this Dropper/Lifter circuit is as follows

1) Door in unlocked position - Drop the window to clear the Targa Top and exit vehicle
2) Close and lock door with key
3) Operate the Drop/Lift Button - Window Lifts (Will be posting some options for the button/other methods later)

On returning to vehicle

4) Unlock door with key
5) Operate the Drop/Lift Button - Window Drops
6) Open door and in you get

Thanks for all the info.
I think by the time i get into it, i might as well just buy the replacement units and fit them myself!
I will still need to go to a AM garage to have them configured to the car but I'm hoping i can save a bit by doing the manual fitting my self.
I appreciate you posting this option.
thanks again.

I agree, you will save much on the labour plus VAT

Good luck

I suggest finding out how much of that price represented labour - that will give you some idea of the amount of work involved. If you end up having to dismantle large parts of the interior to gain access to the units, make sure you're up for that before you commit.

This was a common fault caused by the battery voltage dropping too low, thats why its recommended to keep an Aston on a trickle charger.
Ours was resolved by ten minutes at the dealer and 75 quid.
Worth a try
