And you can get fixed IP for a one-off payment of £5.

plusnet seems rather expensive for what they offer. After the initial term ends line rental is a bit of a joke at £19

You can get a 'static' IP for free if you have an ASUS router that supports their dynamic forwarding service. Anyone know if I can achieve the same at no cost using Google WiFi?

You shouldn't need a new line. Getting Sky to remove their tag can be a major pain though and you will lose your phone number..

Static IP at home on a home broadband connection?
Good luck - most only come with "business" broadband and often you need to pay either a standalone fee (not much, less than £10) or monthly.

There are broadband comparison sites to compare speeds and services in your postcode.

Basically any broadband over 20Mbps will be FTTC so no need to worry there......

It will be an LLU line. The line should terminate in the exchange where BT, TalTalk also have their kit.

Wrong. You can get a free static IP from Zen on a home package.

It's not a bad choice - they are a solid company to deal with. Just keep an eye on the pricing after your first year.
