A basic book about boating.
Discussion
I've been asked for a Christmas list.
I still have a desire to buy a day cruiser for next summer. I know nothing whatsoever about boats apart from they are expensive.
Is there a good book I can ask for? Like a Dummy's Guide to Boating or some such? It needs to be geared towards power boats.
Yes, I am sure there is a wealth of information on the Internet, but my wife can't wrap it and put it in my stocking.

Good ideas.
I am just sorting out my RYA power boat course.

If there is a local school that does night classes, the Dayskipper theory is a very useful grounding. Good way of meeting other boaty folk too.
DSC Radio course is worth doing.
First aid is always useful, not just for boating.
Sea survival might not really be worthwhile, but its VERY enlightening.

Thanks for the invitation too Simpo Two. I rarely travel to EA, but if I do I will take you up on your kind offer. Is it inland?
